Student Finance Director
Renée Bohus joined The French Pastry School in 2003 as Assistant Director, becoming Student Finance Director in January, 2009. Renée's primary focus is working with potential students, admissions, financial aid and ongoing student administration. Renée has an interesting background in pastry: she attended The French Pastry School in 2003 and completed the L'Art de la Pâtisserie program. For seven years prior to that, Renée owned and operated the largest independant bakery in Carrollton, Georgia.
Prior to running her bakery, Renée worked in women’s apparel as a buyer for a women’s catalog with Hartmax Corporation and The Tog Shop. Trained as teacher, Renée taught kindergarten to sixth grade classes, and then moved on to become a teaching assistant to a business professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Renée holds a bachelors degree in management from the University of Illinois. Her experiences as a student of the school and running a bakery of her own make Renée a great resource for potential students to better understand our program and career opportunities.
Renee holds membership with the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling. Renée also assists in the planning and development of Pastry Chicago, a volunteer-based organization that offers events for pastry professionals, students, and amateurs to experience the art of pastry at educational, fun events across the city of Chicago and at the same time promote the fantastic talents of all the artisans who work at the craft of producing beautiful, delicious pastries.
