Daisy Márquez joined The French Pastry School of Kennedy-King College at City Colleges of Chicago in 2015 as the Admissions Assistant. Daisy directly assists and guides prospective students to facilitate the admissions process as well as serves as a point of contact for those seeking to enroll in the school’s Continuing Education courses.
Prior to joining the Admissions team, Daisy studied abroad at the Institute for the International Education of Students and at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris, France. During her time abroad, she volunteered at a non-profit café to reinforce community members’ English speaking and writing skills. At the end of her studies abroad, Daisy was awarded with the IES Abroad French Award. “I deepened and cultivated my understanding of the French language and culture by experiencing it first-hand. I am truly grateful I had the opportunity to study abroad as it helped me grow as a person living in an increasingly cross-cultural world.”
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language and Literature from Loyola University Chicago. During her undergraduate studies, she held the position of President of Loyola University’s French Club, and in 2013, she was inducted into Pi Delta Phi, the French National Honor Society.
With strong ties to the French community and fervent passion for the culture, Daisy aspires to help prospective students uncover the beauty that lies within different aspects of the French culture, specifically with regard to the art of French pastry.
