His demonstration will focus on a chocolate showpiece inspired from his work during the World Chocolate Masters, chocolate bonbons, plated desserts, entremets, and many chocolate decorating techniques. Frank Haasnoot is a Dutch pastry chef with over 25 years of experience and numerous international awards. His love of pastry started at the age of 13 when he started working for his uncle's Holland-based restaurant, preparing chocolates, decorating desserts and baking cookies. After his pastry education, he worked for many pastry shops and in time, became the chief pastry developer for Creme de la Creme. In 2007, he signed up for the World Chocolate Masters and won fourth place—then in 2011, he won. After the Masters, he started working for The Victorian in Kuwait, the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Taiwan, and finally The Peninsula Hong Kong. His contemporary and whimsical designs are admired the world over.
