Driving Directions to The French Pastry School

Follow the signs to I-190E.  I-190 E becomes I-90 E/Kennedy Expressway E.  Take the East Jackson Boulevard exit 51G.  Turn Left onto West Jackson Boulevard.  End at 226 West Jackson Boulevard. 

Taking the 'L' downtown

The L's Blue Line is the cheapest way downtown from O'Hare; trains leave every few minutes and the ride to the Loop downtown is about 45 minutes. For details, call the Chicago Transit Authority http://www.yourcta.com/ at 888-YOUR CTA (888-968-7282).

Use the automatic fare machines to buy a one-way ticket for $2.00 or consider purchasing a visitor pass if you plan to use public transportation again ($5 for one day, $9 for 2 days, $12 for three days and $18 for five days.).

Taxicabs

City taxis are always available at O'Hare on the lower level roadway outside each terminal. The fare to downtown Chicago is approximately $30, a "shared ride" arranged between other passengers and the driver costs $15.

Shuttles

Tickets for major downtown hotels (Marriott, Palmer House Hilton, Radisson, Hyatt Regency Chicago and others) can be purchased at Continental Air Transport Airport Express booths in the lower level of each terminal. The cost is $16 each way. Scheduled service operates 6 a.m.-11:30-p.m. daily; no reservation required. The trip takes 45 minutes or longer depending on traffic conditions and the number of passengers. Call Continental Air Transport, 800-654-7871.

Rental car companies

Car rental counters and courtesy phones are located in the lower level baggage claim areas. Most companies keep cars in parking lots accessible by shuttle bus. MIDWAY

Driving Directions to The French Pastry School

Follow the signs to I-55 N/Stevenson Expressway. Merge onto the I-55 heading north. Take the I-90 W/Ryan Expressway / I-94 W exit number 292 toward Wisconsin. Merge onto the Dan Ryan Expressway via exit number 53A toward Wisconsin/Canalport Ave/Cermak Rd. Take I-290 W Eisenhower Expressway exit toward West Suburbs/Congress Parkway/Chicago Loop. Take the exit toward Congress Parkway/Chicago Loop. Merge onto the Eisenhower Expressway E/I-290 East. The Eisenhower Expressway becomes West Congress Parkway. Take the Wacker Drive/Franklin Street Exit. Take the Franklin St ramp. Turn slight right onto South Franklin Street. Turn right onto West Jackson Boulevard.

Taking the 'L' downtown

The Chicago 'L' Orange line trains serve Midway Airport. It is about a 30 minute trip to the City. Trains run every 5 to7 minutes during rush hours, and 15 to 20 minutes outside of rush hours. For details, call the Chicago Transit Authority at 888-YOUR CTA (888-968-7282).
