Esperanza Community Services Annual Benefit Dinner
Esperanza Community Services is dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities from infancy to adulthood through programs in English and Spanish. Esperanza provides individualized therapeutic, educational and artistic services which promote the skills that increase independance and a sense of belonging in the community.

Wilton Cake Decorating Contest and Open House
If you enjoy decorating cakes, show off your talent in The Wilton School’s 80th Anniversary Cake Decorating Contest and help us get the celebration started! The contest will be held on Saturday, June 14th in conjunction with Wilton School’s Open House commemorating the 80th Anniversary. Chef Laura Ragano will be a judge in the competition.

Graduation
Students will graduate from the L'Art de la Patisserie program from The French Pastry School on Friday, June 20th. They take what they have learned during the 24weeks and apply it to the industry using their talents. Student will begin their pastry careers in some of the most respected hotels, restaurants and bakeries in the country. more

The end of June is the perfect time for home made Jam and Tarts....when berries of every type are in the middle of their too-short season. We will do some variations on tart shells and fillings, as well as jam and sauces to use year round. Class will take place at Gallery 37. more

For the Love of Chocolate
For the Love of Chocolate Foundation provides scholarships for qualified students in the specialized training of the pastry arts. The foundation awards scholarships to L’Art de la Patisserie program taught by The French Pastry School for the City Colleges of Chicago. For the Love of Chocolate Foundation promotes commitment in pastry arts education for individuals looking to change careers and individuals that have shown potential in the culinary field but that have no formal pastry education.

Museum of Modern Ice
This February, experience Chicago’s new winter celebration in downtown Millennium Park. The free, month-long outdoor festival features the U.S. debut of Canadian artist Gordon Halloran’s work, Paintings Below Zero. The French Pastry School has been asked to create a sugar sculpture that will reside in the Chicago Cultural Center.

24-week program begins
The French Pastry School will begin a new session for L'Art de la Patisserie program. The 24-week program is accredited by the Illinois Community College Board for 24 credit hours. Students will learn the fundamentals in all areas of pastry including breads, chocolate, ice cream, plated desserts, cake decorating techinques and more.

Philly Candy Show
Chef Bob Hartwig will join Design & Realisation at the Philadelphia Candy Show in Atlantic City, NJ. Each day Chef Hartwig will demonstrate using the equipment and products offered by D&R.
